Cleantech Estonia eestvedamisel alustab taas rahvusvaheline rohetehnoloogia ärikiirendi EIT Climate Accelerator. Eestis on programmist läbi käinud 7 aasta jooksul ligi 70 rohetehnoloogia ettevõtet, kellest mitmed on turul juba laineid löönud, sealhulgas Single.Earth, Roofit.solar, Gelatex ja paljud teised. Eestis on sel aastal programmis 9 uut meeskonda:

EIT Climate Accelerator on ellu kutsutud EIT Climate KICi poolt, programmi toetavad Luminor, rohestartup Fusebox ja rohefond Little Green Fund.

The EIT Climate Accelerator, an international business accelerator for green technologies, is starting again in Estonia led by Cleantech Estonia. Over the past 7 years, nearly 70 Estonian cleantech companies have graduated from the program, several of which have already made a mark in the market, including Single.Earth, Roofit.solar, Gelatex and many others.

This year, the program has 9 new teams in Estonia:

  • Gens: a company that helps farmers move profitably to renewable agriculture.

  • Heatsync: a solution to help water centers make significant savings on their energy costs.

  • ClimaCash: a platform to reward people for reducing their footprint.

  • Myceen: carbon-negative building materials created by combining industrial waste with mycelium.

  • Filaret: recycles toxic cigarette butts into compostable and safe 3D printer filament.

  • RingKarp: reusable cutlery for restaurants and the HoReCa sector to reduce the use of single-use plastics and crockery.

  • Zero Labs: a platform to support the decarbonization of the energy industry.

  • Forta Helmet: an innovative, environmentally friendly material that is stronger than its alternatives, with its first application in bicycle helmets.

  • Low imPACK: treats textile waste into recyclable packaging.

According to Erki Ani, CEO of Cleantech Estonia, "This year is special for its broad local support, with Luminor as the main sponsor of the program, providing help in both financing and mentoring. The program is also supported by the Little Green Fund and previous participants such as Fusebox. Every year, the next Estonian cleantech success stories will come out of the program, so keep an eye out for them!".

Kadri Vunder, Head of Sustainability at Luminor commented: "We have taken significant steps in recent years to implement sustainable principles in our operations, and we are also helping our customers along the way. Therefore, we are very pleased that we can now also contribute to the accelerated take-off of new green companies in all our home markets and hopefully be part of their future international success stories."

The program offers both business mentoring and financial support to help teams bring their prototypes and innovations to market faster. In total, 40 start-ups from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Slovakia will benefit from business accelerator development support this year.

The EIT Climate Accelerator has been launched by the EIT Climate KIC and is supported by Luminor, green startup Fusebox and the Little Green Fund.
